TOURNAMENTS

We hold tournaments on a fairly informal basis, with teams from both the Algarve and Europe competing in a relaxed environment with the emphasis on friendship (although all teams want to win as well!).

There is either a league or knockout format depending on the hosts, and they can last 1 or 2 days.

The tournaments are usually followed by a celebration dinner and the odd beer or 20!

March 2017:

2nd Albufeira Walking Football Cup

Teams from Walton, Manchester and Wigan in the UK joined teams from Lagos, Vilamoura, Olhao and the Silver Coast of Portugal

October 2016:

Algarve Walking Football Cup

International tournament held at Browns Sports and Leisure Club, Vilamoura.

Eight teams, including four from the Algarve, two from Scotland, and two from England.

May 2016:

International tournament between Olhao, Tavira, Vilamoura, and two teams from Manchester City.

March 2016:

International tournament held in Albufeira, including teams from Manchester, Walton (Surrey), Olhao, Vilamoura and Lagos

October 2015:

International tournament held at Browns Sports and Leisure Club, Vilamoura; ten teams from the UK and Portugal competed, with Olhao winning overall.

February 2015:

First International tournament between Olhao and The Cove squad from Hampshire, UK
